TP-100 Carter Twinprop

This plane was perhaps my favorite--- the FT Cruiser. By chance upon ordering one motor I received a second, so I decided to put them to use. I particularly loved the design for looking like a crossbreed of the De Havilland Mosquito, Yak-2, and XP-50, some of my favorite aircraft. This plane taught me about differential thrust as well as electronic capabilities; I initially attempted to run both engines on one ESC(rated for 20 amperes) and, unsurprisingly, it caught fire. This was also the first aircraft to use 3d-printed parts--- specifically in wing spars, the cockpit, and later replacement gears. While it took a very long time to smooth out control surface throws and CG for a plane with such a huge wing planform and two motors, I eventually got it to fly quite well, but it quite liked to flip under any wind at all. One such flip was at a rather high altitude; I think the picture explains most of it. To my credit and detriment, it wasn't due to design failure, but rather pure pilot error. The plane was good, the pilot wasn't. By the way, there are only a few months left before I have a pilot's license, so sleep well at night.
